The lively village, “Bugis”
This is a very active and lively place where many local Singaporeans visit often because the large-scaled wholesale market called “Bugis Village” is located here. It is a place where it takes just two-stations from the “Little India”, one of the popular tourist spots among tourists, by MRT, and it is also a walking distance from the “Arab Street” where many bars and small item shops are located. Moreover, Bugis has shopping centers such as “Bugis Junction” and “Bugis Plus”, where many young Singaporeans often visit for shopping and having a meal.
In such a middle of Singapore’s downtown, we have our partner who is using Nstory’s POS system, “NPOS”, so we visited. Our partner here in Bugis is “Ice Lab”, a dessert café where it mainly offers Korean ice flakes called “Bingsu”.
“Ice Lab”, located in Rochor, is in Bugis Village shopping mall just beside Bugis station. It is easy to find because the mall is just the opposite of a tall building of Raffles hospital. And it is also a good place to easily visit after shopping.

As we entered the café, we can immediately see the Bingsu of Ice Lab on the right. As we usually say “what looks good tastes good”, when we saw the various colorful ice flakes, we understood why the Korean ice flakes is so popular in Singapore. It is enough size for 2 or 3 persons to share.
Besides the Bingsu, even the interior of the café is done very well with cute décor which is very instagrammable. And we can also see a “Kaya Coconut Bingsu” which is only can be tasted in Singapore. It will be a very fresh experience to try this combination of taste for the tourists.
Since Singapore has no other seasons but summer, Singaporeans seem to have a kind of romance about winter which is seen through media only. That is why when the Christmas season comes, they sometimes make a winter-themed space where they can experience the artificial snow. In that sense, we think “Ice Lab” is always winter in Singapore already.
Anyways, let’s leave the looking around Ice Lab behind and we will now go to the counter for checking up our POS system, the NPOS.
